Do you know this bird?

Update: This bird is Vermilion Flycatcher!

Evening, Owens Lake, California - Albert Bierstadt

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky. - Rabindranath Tagore

Identify the bird. If you get it right, I shall know my drawing is alright :)) This picture was taken with my mobile. Will soon scan and upload it again - sorry botched the wings :(

  1. I really like Bierstadt paintings. I won't guess on the bird as you have different varieties of birds over there than we do. It is a great drawing.

  14. As with others, the best I can come up with is a Robin, but as others have noted, our Robins only have the red on the belly. It's a lovely little bird, in any case!

  15. I don't know the bird but then I only know English birds. I think I have seen pictures of cardinals that look like that though.

  16. Hello Ruby, your drawing is exquisite, love the red colour. However I am not very good at identifying birds, sorry to say. I woudl think it looks a bit like a cardinal, but I am not sure that is correct.;)
