Update: This bird is Vermilion Flycatcher!
Evening, Owens Lake, California - Albert Bierstadt |
Identify the bird. If you get it right, I shall know my drawing is alright :)) This picture was taken with my mobile. Will soon scan and upload it again - sorry botched the wings :(
I really like Bierstadt paintings. I won't guess on the bird as you have different varieties of birds over there than we do. It is a great drawing.
ReplyDeleteI am going to plumb for a Robin. I am useless with birds so don't panic. WISIWYG. Keep posting and write more. All the best.
ReplyDeleteThanks Larry!!
ReplyDeleteAdrian - I did panic but then I blame the color pencil!
Guess Chestnut bellied nuthatch or Robin...
ReplyDeleteBtw, new here to your blog. Came via Ramakrishnan Sir's blog and you've got a great one here...

Well am not good with birds' names ... so wouldn't comment ... but your drawing is really good ... lovely work :-)
ReplyDeleteThe first one is magnificent - has a magical hue about it. The bird: I guess it is a red breasted, red headed, chestnut bellied, something - robin,nuthatch....whatever.The sketch is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNot a bird we have here Ruby, but at a guess I would suggest a Robin red breast? - Dave
ReplyDeleteWell Ruby, is that the bird from California???? I'm not sure what it is, sorry, the Robin has red breast but, has got none on its head, tell me????????????
ReplyDeleteHello Ruby, I would not know what type of bird or it goes. We have these birds Neit in the Netherlands.
ReplyDeleteKind regards, Helma
It's a beautiful image Ruby... only our little Robin comes close..
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for all your lovely comments it's really appreciated xx
Fantasy images, congratulations. I am greeting
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing of the bird.
ReplyDeleteHello Ruby,
ReplyDeleteof course you try to paint these skies. I'm honored that you want to do.
Kind regards, Helma
As with others, the best I can come up with is a Robin, but as others have noted, our Robins only have the red on the belly. It's a lovely little bird, in any case!
ReplyDeleteI don't know the bird but then I only know English birds. I think I have seen pictures of cardinals that look like that though.
ReplyDeleteHello Ruby, your drawing is exquisite, love the red colour. However I am not very good at identifying birds, sorry to say. I woudl think it looks a bit like a cardinal, but I am not sure that is correct.;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely recent visits, hope you have been well.;))
