I do not know exactly where these places are but somewhere near Glencoe. We just stopped on our way when we found beautiful spots to take pictures.
A person lucky enough to reside in such beauty, told us that during some invasion, (I don't remember the name) people hid in the valley between the hills of the above picture. I believe he called it Hell's valley.
In spring, these rugged mountains become more beautiful with the green vegetation and wildlife and the over flowing rivers. I never went here in spring.
The river was frozen. We went in January.
Stunning the views, and the right to go there, mind you, I wouldn't go to Scotland, too freezing.

ReplyDeleteYes, it was freezing, but I was dressed for it and being quite chubby didn't feel too much cold!!! But my friends had it worse, they forgot their gloves.
DeleteGlencoe and Rannoch moor are a favourite place of mine. These shots are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteRumbling Bridge I know well. It is best when the River Devon is in spate when it really does rumble and roar.

That sort of landscape really speaks to my soul. I have some of my ancestry from Scotland, but I've never visited there. I'd love to do so, someday.

DeleteRuby I am quite upset that I missed this post when you wrote it but delighted to catch up now. It is many many years since I crossed Ranch Moor in the winter (a winter journey I used to undertake frequently between 30 and 40 years ago) and your post has ensured that I will definitely be doing it again this year and, hopefully, getting photos as wonderful as yours are. They are absolutely stunning.
