Paintings

I thought to share these paintings which are my favorite. I love the details of the reflections in the first painting.

“The only way love can last a lifetime is if it's unconditional. The truth is this: love is not determined by the one being loved but rather by the one choosing to love."
-Stephen Kendrick

Does unconditional love exist? No, I don't think so. :)

Disappointed Love - Francis Danby

The Lady of Shalott - John William Waterhouse

  1. Good to see you back.
I too like the Lady of Shallot...a good painting and a great name...better than the Lady of Onion.

  4. You've been missed so it's good to see you back. You're a little dark on the love today!

  5. I am an admirer of the Pre-Raphaelites and have seen The Lady of Shalott in the Tate. For me it is a most beautiful and moving picture. The Danby is associated with sadness. Your words and pictures, Ruby, would seem to suggest that all is not as it should be in your world. It is, as Adrian says, good to see you back though.

  9. The Lady of Shallot is a lovely painting, but I can't help thinking that her quilt is getting wet.

  11. These are beautiful paintings, Ruby. Though both of the women in the art pieces seem to be grieving, they are fine works of art. Exquisite color and detail.

  12. These are romantic paintings, but just paintings. I think that tears are replaced by joy in real love and if we are crying, it was not a right feeling, because in true love, both lovers are happy and their couple, which is like a third person, is shining with happiness too.
